Well so much for the outstanding weather we've been experiencing on Weds throughout the month of April. This Weds brought cold, wind and occasional rain but the warriors of the MMGL proved a hearty bunch indeed. Who knew we had such mudders in this league? Jason Converse and Brad Gates posted the low score with each shooting excellent 37s. Right behind them were Joe Ryan, Paul Longo and Mike Heffernan posting 38's. Amazing scores considering the weather conditions and the aerated greens.
Super effort guys.

We had some major movement at the top of the standings as Team Heffernan (94.5) moved into 1st place vaulting over Team Brovelli (89) and Team Santos(88.5). So with one month in the books we can all look forward to
better weather, better conditions and better golf!!!

A couple of issues need to be brought up this week. The first issue is pace of play. We actually had the final foursome advance through the group in front of them because of slowness. Guys, we shouldn't have to bring this up every couple of weeks. We ALL need to do some self reflection and if you're the person who is constantly falling behind the group in front of you changes to your preshot routine are in order. We really don't want to call individuals out by name as this should be pretty self-explanatory. Please play ready golf and don't wait in your cart while your partner hits his shot before going to your ball. And 1
or 2 practice swings should be plenty before pulling the trigger!

Next, we've had yet another disputed scorecard after the standings have been sent out. Wally isn't Karnack and has no other information than what is reported on each foursome's official scorecard. Please take a minute after you complete your round to review the scorecard with your opponent and agree on the scoring and the outcome.

In this week's Closest contests we had some good competition on a very difficult 18th hole. The A/B winners were yours truly, (The Assman), nosing out Joe(William Tell) Ryan with a shot to 6'6" just nipping Joe's 7'5". In the C/D Flight Jim (Slapshot) Hansen fired a beauty to 23" besting Johnny (Mr. Runner-up) Horrigan's shot to 7'3". Winners collect $50 and 2nd place was good for $20.

And in the FedEx Race we had a rarity indeed. With 17 birdies recorded this week (what a bunch of mud lovers) you'd think we'd have more skins than any other week but you'd be sadly mistaken. All of the birdies canceled each other out EXCEPT Brad (Light it up) Gates with a birdie 2 on 12 that claims the only skin of Week 4 good for the entire $197.50 in this week's pot. It's clear who the leader after month 1 is in the year long race for the FedEx Cup. Speaking of which I still have to collect the entry fee from a dozen participants and the deadline is next week. Please be sure to bring your $100 entry fee if you haven't already paid up and see me or Shawn Connors or leave an envelope in the Proshop with my name on it..
